How does honey treat wounds? (sorry if this has been ask... I tried to look through for it)

Well first of all, Honey never goes bad or develops mold. Bacteria cannot grow in honey since it is slightly acidic. Honey helps wounds in several ways. Its thickness provides a protective barrier. The hydrogen peroxide it contains is released slowly, killing germs in the wound. Some as-yet-unknown ingredients reduce inflammation, while others, perhaps amino acids and vitamin C, speed the growth of healthy tissue.
